What is the difference between Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Counselling refers to a brief way of working (6-12 sessions) that centres around your behaviour patterns. Psychotherapy focuses on working for a longer-term and draws from insight into emotional problems and difficulties.
Whatever direction our work takes counselling and psychotherapy is about listening to you without judgment, enabling you to explore your thoughts and feelings, and helping you access your resources within.
Both can help you gain new perspectives about yourself and support you in resolving your challenges. Along with helping you to find new ways of coping with a greater sense of control and choice in your life. Talking through your issues can help you come to terms with current challenges and identify a future where you are calmer, more confident and in charge of your own life.
